Punjab Technical University Chandigarh
Punjab Technical University Chandigarh (PTU) was established on January 16, 1997, through an Act of the State Legislature. Its primary objective is to foster technical, management, and pharmaceutical education at the degree level and beyond in the state of Punjab, India. Originally known as Punjab Technical University Chandigarh, it was later renamed Punjab Technical University in 2015, in honor of Late Sh. Inder Kumar Gujral, the former Prime Minister of India.
The university has been entrusted with the responsibility of establishing centers of excellence in emerging technologies and promoting training, research, and development in these areas. Its aim is to contribute to the development of skilled manpower in the country, with a special focus on the state of Punjab. To achieve this goal, the university offers a diverse range of courses in various streams through both regular and distance education programs.
